内容 – Summary of the concert

ベートーヴェン生誕250周年を記念して、共にロンドンで研鑽を積んだヴァイオリニスト本橋はる子とピアニスト西山雅千がベートーヴェンのヴァイオリンとピアノの為のソナタ全10曲を三日間連続で演奏致します。

全身全霊で音楽に向き合い、様々な困難を乗り越えて力強く前進していくベートーヴェンの生き様と強靭な エネルギーを彼のヴァイオリンとピアノの為のソナタ全曲を通して皆様と一緒に感じていければ幸いです。

To celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birth anniversary, the Violinist Ms.Haruko Motohashi and the Pianist Ms.Masachi Nishiyama will challenge his all 10 Sonatas for Violin and Piano in three days. We are looking forward to sharing his great energy of his music together with you through the performances.

　2020年は、ベートーヴェン生誕250周年を記念して世界各地で色々なコンサートが企画されていましたが、誰もが想像し得ぬ新型コロナウイルスの世界的蔓延という深刻な状況に直面することとなり、その多くの機会が奪われることとなりました。 このコンサートも続行するべきかどうするかとても悩みましたが、この未曾有の難局に直面している今こそ、違う境遇ですが同じく困難な時代に生き、自身に降りかかった苦難の中にあっても闘い続け、強い意志によって希望を見出したベートーヴェンの勇気と強靭なエネルギーをこ の彼のソナタ全曲を通して皆さんと感じ、今の時代を共に力強く前進する力になれば本当に素晴らしいと思っています。 コンサートの動画配信は、この状況でなければここまで広がらなかったと思いますが、配信を通じて今まで不可能であった、世界を客席に音楽をシェアすることができる新しい手段となりました。 このコンサートでも世界のたくさんの人たちと繋がることができたら幸いです。 この深刻な状況のなかでも、演奏会ができることに心から感謝し、全身全霊でベートーヴェンのヴァイオリ ンとピアノの為のソナタ全10曲を演奏させていただきたいと思います。

This year, 2020 was going to be full of Beethoven music all over the world to celebrate his 250th birth anniversary, but the Covid-19 caused the worldwide pandemic and made us facing to such a difficult time as well as lost many opportunities to share his music together. It also made us some time to think whether concerts should go on or not. Beethoven himself also fought through his hardships with his strength and we can feel that strong energy through his music. We are thrilled to share his music and hoping to give one small but great step to get through in this difficult situation. Live streaming Classical music concerts would not be this popular if there wasn’t Covid-19, ironically it gave new perspective to have whole world as in the audience. We feel grateful of giving concerts under this circumstance, and will do our best to perform the Beethoven’s complete sonatas for Violin and Piano.

本橋 はる子 – ヴァイオリン

東京藝術大学卒業、同年に渡英。YBP国際コンクールシニア部門優勝。1997年、Pacific Music Festival に 指揮者佐渡裕氏の推薦により最年少で参加。 2005年、王立音楽院 演奏家ディプロマコース終了、終了 演奏 成績優秀によりDipRAM賞を合わせて受賞。在学中にWilfred Parry Prize、Mortimer Development Awardsを受賞。 2007年、ロンドン大学より現代音楽専攻にて修士を取得。2012年、王立音楽大学より 理学修士を取得。ロ ンドン、オックスフォード、ブリストル等にてコンサートや音楽祭に出演。多数の学 校にてヴァイオリン教 師として勤めた他、コンサートミストレスとしてアマチュアオーケストラの指導等 も行う。 現代音楽に学生時代より意欲的に取り組み、様々な作曲家の曲を初演。2008年にはロンドンにて David Owen作曲、ヴァイオリン協奏曲の世界初演、Roger Redgate指揮、Goldsmiths College Orchestraと共 演。現代音楽サマースクールとして名高いBritten-Pears Young Artists Programmeより 二度招待を受け、 故Oliver Knussen, Collin Matthews, Magnus Lindbergなど現代を代表する著名な作 曲家達に師事、コン サートにて共演。これまでに 、清水高師、Remus Azoitei、 Darragh Morgan に師 事。 2013年に帰国。現在は、ソロ/室内楽演奏活動、全国各地のオーケストラの客演を行う他、音楽教室 Musicoloreにてヴァイオリン教師を勤める。

Haruko Motohashi – violin

First Prize winner of the 2004 YBP International Music Competition and 2000 Wakayama Music Competition in Japan, Haruko Motohashi was selected as a finalist of David Martin/Florence Hooton Concerto prize in 2002 and the Wilfred Pary Prize at the Royal Academy of Music in 2003. ln 2004 she was one of the few contestants selected to take part in the Premio Paganini 50th International Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy. In 2006, she was selected as a semi-finalist of Junesses Musicales International competition in Belgrade, Serbia. She has also performed as a soloist in the Pacific Music Festival in 1997. In her commitment to contemporary music, Haruko has worked with many of today’s most important composers and works regularly with today’s leading young composers, having premiered David Owen’s new Violin Concerto with the Goldsmiths College Orchestra, conducted by Roger Redgatge, in February 2008. She has also premiered several works written especially for her. She was invited to take part in the 2007 Contemporary Performance and Composition (Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme), directed by The late Oliver Knussen, Collin Matthews, and Magnus Lindberg. Haruko began studying the violin by the Suzuki method at the age of three, and over the years she has also performed in Master Classes with The late Yfrah Neaman, lgor Oistrakh, Valeri Oistrakh, Mincho Mintchev, and Eduard Schmieder. Haruko completed her studies in October 2012, receiving an MSc in Performance Science from the Royal College of Music, London. She has also received the MMus, specialising in New Music, from Goldsmiths College, University, of London, in November 2007, and in June 2005, the Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction (for an outstanding final recital) from the Royal Academy of Music, London. She also holds a BMus, first class with distinction, from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.

西山 雅千 – ピアノ

桐朋女子高等学校音楽科、桐朋学園大学卒業。1999年に渡英して英国王立音楽院、英国王立音楽大学を卒 業。 これまでに国際芸術連盟 にて審査員特別賞、北海道ミュージックキャンプにて最優秀賞、The Maud Hornby Awardなどを含む国内外のコンクールで数々の賞を受賞。2017年までロンドンを拠点にイギリス 国内、フラン ス、イタリア、オーストリア、日本での数多くのコンサート、音楽祭で精力的に演奏活動を 行い、テレビやラ ジオなどにも出演する。ソロでの演奏活動に加え、器楽や歌とのアンサン ブルの経験も 多い。2011年、ロン ドンの主要なコンサート会場の一つのセント・ジェームズ・チャーチ・ピカデリーで ショスタコーヴィチのピ アノとトランペットの為のコンチェルトをBBC交響楽団のトランペット奏者 Martin Hurrel氏と共演し、 Music&Visionより”非常に驚くべき演奏”と絶賛される。バッハ・ゴルトベル ク変奏曲プロジェクトとし て20 回以上のリサイタルをイギリス各地で行なっておりClassical Sourceより 好評を得る。2017年3月には、ダン サーとのコラボでゴルトベルク変奏曲を演奏するという斬新な企画で 東京公演を行い、新しい試みにも意欲的 に取り組んでいる。ロンドンで長くヴァイオリニスト本橋はる子 氏とDuoで演奏活動を行い、2010年にCDが Avocado Music Productionsからリリースされる。2011年 からロンドンのショット・ミュージック店での Marlborough Recital Seriesのアーティスト・ディレクタ ーとして様々なコンサートの企画・演奏を行ってい てる。これまでに林秀光、加藤朋子, James Lisney, Yonty Solomon, Jacques Rouvierの各氏に師事。

Masachi Nishiyama – piano

Masachi Nishiyama is increasingly gaining recognition as both a soloist and a collaborative pianist. She has performed at prestigious venues across Europe and Japan, and at music festivals worldwide. Masachi has great success in many competitions, including First Prize at the Hokkaido Music Camp, Special Prize at the International Artist Association of Japan , and the Maud Hornby Prize. Her London debut solo concert at St Johns Smith Square was highly acclaimed. Also her Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto with Martin Hurrell who is a sub-principal trumpet with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Hokusai Orchestra had a great success and it was acclaimed as a quite stunning performance by Music&Vision (classical music magazine). Her repertoire encompasses music from the Baroque era to the present day. One of her main projects has been to give over thirty recitals of Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations in the UK and Japan and she has gained special distinction for the performances. She also has a deep love of the work of Debussy and Ravel and a performance of her Ravel was selected by Piano Magazine as one of the most memorable performances at the Dudley International Piano Competition in 2002. She also enjoys her work as a chamber musician and an accompanist with a wide range of musicians. Masachi has given many duo recitals with the violinist Haruko Motohashi, both in the UK and in Japan and Avocado Music Productions released a CD of their performances in April 2010. Masachi studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, London and the Royal College of Music, London. Her main teacher has been Tomoko Kato, Hidemitsu Hayashi, James Lisney and Yonty Solomon. She is currently the artist director of Marlborough Recital Series at Schott Music in London and also in Japan.
